Install · Cursor

Prism for Cursor.

This agent gets the MCP server. In each repo, add --project to write a rule that asks the agent for the file list before editing and the verdict before it says it is done.

$npm install -g @prismapp/cli
$prism install cursor
~/northwind
Prism 2.0.0 installed for Cursor.Rules are per repository: in each one, run`prism install cursor --project` to add the prepare/receipt rule.

~/northwind
$ prism habit add "start my day" --step "github: list my open PRs and review requests" --step "linear: my in-progress issues" --output standupAdded habit “start my day” (2 steps). Ask your agent: “run my start my day habit”.
By hand

Or add the MCP server yourself.

Paste this into Cursor’s MCP config. It starts the published Prism server with npx. By hand you get the MCP tools, not the rule.

Without hooks, turn on the receipt tool so the agent can ask for a receipt before it says it is done.

json~/.cursor/mcp.json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "prism": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": [
        "-y",
        "@prismapp/mcp-server@2"
      ]
    }
  }
}
Add the server

Opens your editor and asks before it adds the server.

json~/.prism/config.json
{
  "extraTools": [
    "receipt"
  ]
}
Add to the file if it already has settings.

Then

  1. Restart Cursor.
  2. Run prism doctor to check the setup.
  3. Ask for a change in plain words.
  4. Ask for a habit or a review by name, and your agent asks Prism.
